Hamamatsu Diorama Factory


What is Diorama, I wondered when I first heard the word.  
A diorama is a replica of a scene, typically a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase.

Recently opened in Zaza city 1F, an exhibition hall called Hamamatsu Diorama Factory. When you visit Hamamatsu Diorama Factory, prepare to be amazed. All the replicas are so detailed made. So much talent, work, and time poured into it. 

More than 40 works by Takuji Yamada are exhibited here. Takuji Yamada is a diorama modeler who expresses the nostalgic scenery of the Showa era with a scale model. National professional modeler champion in the TV Tokyo program "TV Champion".

‎He is active in a wide range of genres, from Gundam models to tokusatsu and military models, but what really exerts his true nature is most often in dioramas. Long before the so-called Showa boom, he has been working on many diorama works that reflect scenes from the Showa period.

Takuji Yamada's works, nicknamed "The King of Scenes," convey to the viewer the air, smell, light, wind, temperature, and even the warmth and emotions of people at that moment. You can almost hear the words being exchanged.‎ He even made a diorama of himself.

If you are a  fan of small figures and items, I totally recommend you to visit this exhibition.

 

Interesting tips for taking photos of a diorama scene, you must try to take shots from different angles. You will be able to see various scenes.

Watching the Fukuroi Fireworks Festival

  As the sun set, I headed to the Fukuroi Fireworks Festival. This event in Shizuoka is famous for its amazing fireworks and lively atmosphere. This year, I wanted to see it for myself. I took the train from Hamamatsu Station to Fukuroi Station. The festival venue, Haranoyagawa Shinsui Park, was a 20-minute walk from the station. Arriving early is crucial because the streets get crowded quickly.  When I arrived, the place was buzzing with excitement. Families, couples, and friends were everywhere, setting up their picnic blankets. The smell of street food like takoyaki, yakisoba, and grilled corn filled the air. I grabbed some snacks to enjoy while waiting for the show. As it got darker, everyone grew more excited. The organizers promised a great show this year. Evangelion at Hamamatsu City Hall?! Only in Japan!
