400,000 Cosmos flowers in Hamanako Garden Park

Image
Today I want to share with you my experience of visiting Hamanako Garden Park in Hamamatsu, Japan. It is a beautiful park that faces Lake Hamana, and it has many kinds of flowers and plants. But the most amazing thing is the cosmos field that covers the hillside with pink and white flowers. When I entered the park, I saw a big field. It was full of cosmos flowers. They looked like a colorful blanket on the ground. Cosmos flowers are very pretty. They come in different colors like pink, white, and red. When the wind blows, they move back and forth. It's a beautiful sight.   I went there in October, which is the best time to see the cosmos flowers. They usually bloom from mid-October to late October, depending on the weather. There are about 400,000 cosmos flowers in the park, and they look like a sea of stars when the wind blows. It was so relaxing and refreshing to walk among them and enjoy the view of the lake. I walked around the park for a long time. I saw many different ty...

Misakubo Festival 2023

Image
Two Weeks ago , I had the chance to visit the Misakubo Festival, a unique and historic event in the Tenryu Misakubo area of Shizuoka Prefecture. It was one of the most fun and memorable experiences I have ever had in Japan. The Misakubo Festival is held every year on the second Saturday and Sunday of September, to pray for health, success, road safety, and a bountiful harvest, and to thank the local Shinto deity. The highlight of the festival is the costume contest, where many teams from inside and outside the town participate in various performances, such as singing, dancing, and comedy skits in front of judges.  The costumes are amazing, ranging from traditional to modern, from cute to scary, from realistic to absurd. The men walking around wearing lingerie made me laugh so hard that I almost cried. The festival also has other attractions, such as a parade of the portable shrine (mikoshi) and a sacred dance (kagura) at the shrine during the day. These events showcase the local cu...

If you are in Hamamatsu city, you can have a chance to experience the thrill of shuriken throwing at the Chitose Gun Model Shop, a store that sells various kinds of guns, knives, and ninja goods. The shop has a special section called the Shuriken Throwing Experience Dojo, where you can practice throwing shurikens at a target. The dojo is designed to be safe and fun, so you don't have to worry about hurting yourself or others. You can also wear a ninja costume for free and feel like a real ninja. The shop owner will teach you how to hold and throw shurikens properly, and you can try different types and sizes of shurikens. I visited the dojo with my sons and my brother, and we had a blast. We competed with each other to see who could hit the most targets and score the highest points. Some people compete with their friends, and the loser ...

A Fun Melon Harvesting Adventure at Kashima Harvest Melon Farm, Hamamatsu!

Image
Hello, fellow adventurers and fruit lovers! Today, I want to share with you an exciting experience I had at the Kashima Harvest Melon Farm in Hamamatsu. It was an extraordinary day filled with joy, laughter, and, of course, delicious melons!  We had the most incredible experience of melon harvesting at Kashima Harvest Farm in Hamamatsu City. As soon as I arrived, the sight of the lush melon vines excite me. With guidance from the friendly farmer/owner, I learned how to select perfectly ripe melons by their appearance. The feeling of gently cutting the sweet, juicy melon off the vine was immensely satisfying.  The farmer explained that in order to produce a good sweet melon, they would only keep one melon per tree. So if for example, the tree has 3 melons, they would get rid of the other two, so the tree can focus on growing only one melon, and it will be sweet, juicy, and delicious. As we reached the Kashima Harvest Melon Farm, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Th...
