  The popular "Higashi Ooyama Kawazu Sakura Festival", where you can see early-blooming Kawazu cherry blossoms in Hamamatsu, will be held from February 18 (Saturday) to March 12 (Sunday), 2023. Kawazu Sakura Higashi Ooyama is one of the largest rows of Kawazu cherry trees in the western area of ​​Shizuoka Prefecture. The festival will be held as planned even with the cold weather continuing for several days. The best time to see them is expected to be around the end of February to early March . On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, they serve local vegetables such as cabbage, mandarin oranges, and chrysanthemum potatoes, as well as handmade pickles. There are also stalls that sell light meals such as udon, oden, yakisoba, and even cotton candy and ice cream. On weekdays, the number of stalls will be slightly reduced as the stalls will be run by volunteers.
