Good news everyone! From October 11, 2022, Japan has fully opened its borders to all visitors. Based on new border measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it is no longer necessary to self-quarantine at home, hotels, etc., and refrain from using public transportation.   Even better, COVID-19 testing on arrival is no longer required unless both entering and returning travelers are suspected of having COVID-19.   However, all returnees and visitors will be required to provide either a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate (3 doses) or a certificate of negative result prior to departure. COVID-19 test must be taken within 72 hours prior to departing from the country/region of origin.     So overview, you need a valid vaccination certificate that you can obtain at your local City Hall office. It takes about 5 days for the letter to arrive at your residence, You can also obtain the paper online on the App by scanning the QR code. ...
