Autumn on a train

Autumn, it's that time of the year where we can enjoy the changing color of leaves,  it marks the transition from summer to winter. Before the weather gets too cold, let's enjoy beautiful Momiji (fall leaves). This time, recommended by a friend, we decided to take a local Oigawa railway train journey and enjoy the scenery along the Oigawa River.  Our journey began in Senzu station, which is about a 1 hour 40 minutes car ride from Hamamatsu. To go to Senzu station by train, take the JR Tokaido line to Kanaya station, then change to Oigawa line to Senzu station. From Senzu station, we take a train to Okuoikojo station on the Southern Alps Oigawa line. Okuoikojo station was selected as Chubu's best 100 stations. Wanpaku Sledding in Miyakoda Park

There is a place in Hamamatsu where kids can sled down on a manmade hill all year long in any season. Wanpaku Sledding Slope in Miyakoda Park is very popular among the locals. Sleds, elbow pads, and knee pads are available for rent FREE (you may not bring your own sled). Hours of Operation 10am - 3pm, staff lunch break is from 12pm-1:0pm. The slope will be closed in the case of rain. Slope Usage is Fee of charge. Kids age range From 3-year-olds to 6th graders (children under the elementary school age must be accompanied by a guardian) can use the Slope. Please wear gloves, long sleeves, and long pants. During crowded times, take turns sliding after 3 times. Dangerous ways of sliding such as going down while standing or sliding in groups are prohibited.
