Magomegawa River Waterside Park, a place to unwind with nature.
Before the state of emergency in Shizuoka ken, my friends and I had a picnic in a park nearby. The park is called Magomegawa River Waterside Park. There is a small stream running thru the park, where kids can play in the water and catch some fish. The park is quite popular among residents in the central district of Hamamatsu city. Around the beginning of summer, the park becomes a lively open space where kids can catch river shrimp, pond loaches, and medaka/ Oryzias (a genus of ricefishes native to fresh and brackish water in Asia) , and big-scaled redfin (also known as the Japanese dace) . The place where there is little flow and aquatic plants is a great place to catch shrimp. It's a park where everyone cherishes the feelings of catch and release. There is no playground set in the park. Families come here to have a picnic, but BBQ is not allowed, and be sure to take your trash home with you.
